I  am sorry to announce the passing of away of Mrs Amminey Jacob, wife of Late Shri CP Jacob (my father's brother) , on 10th May, 2001, at Thiruvalla, Kerala. Funeral is scheduled to be held on 14th May, at Pulickal Kavala, Kottayam.***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

My Sister Shiney   has joined her husband George Thomas (Ponnachan) in Nairobi in the first week of May 2001, along with her two     children Kevin and Kenney.

Last month, that is April, Chicku turned 15! Here is a picture of  her taken on the birthday with her family and friends.

She continues to work in Manhattan (New York City), and pursuing her career in cinematography.Chippy is finally legally an adult! She turned 18 last March and is at present in the process of selecting  a college, once her High School are over this coming June.

The 'Holy Week' in April was made enjoyable by the arrival of my brother-in-lawMr. Ponnachan (George Thomas) from Kenya. He brought with him intriguing native artwork depicting Kenyan wild animals like Zebra, Elephant, Lion etc. and our children are enthralled by it.Chicku is looking forward for her upcoming birthday on April 17th.Tippu seems to be the one most  enjoying the current spring break from school.One of Elsy's long time friend (from Willingdon Hospital, New Delhi), Mrs. Aleyamma Stephen, died on 9th April, in New York. News dated Dated Feb 5th, 2001

Last December 10th was the 62nd birthday of my
maternal cousin Kallarackal T. Idicula (nick name: Thampan),
a resident of New York. He got a befitting birthday gift from the villagers
of Barang Block, Cuttack District, Orissa, when they named
a newly constructed village after him, called "THAMPAN GRAM"
The village consists of 106 houses and other amenities.
Idiculla had made a donation Rs 28 Lakhs to the
Malankara Orthodox Mission Board, which supported
the cost of construction 62 houses.

News came from India via V. I. Jacob that C. P. Jacob,
my paternal uncle, who was residing in 'Peace Hill' Kottayam
passed away at 9pm on 31st January 2001 . After the
arrival of his son Philip Jacob (Philippootty) from Delhi,
the burial was done on Feb 2nd, 2001(Friday),
in St Peters Orthodox Church, Pulickal Kavala,
Vazhoor, Kottayam, Kerala.
Elder son Paul Jacob (Balan) was also expected
to attend.

Second death anniversary service for my father C P Thomas
will be held on February 18,2001, which is all souls day,
in our church in HauzKhaz, New Delhi.

News came from Priya Thirkell in London, that her mother
Mrs Sarama Kuriako, died - Sunday 4th February, early in the morning at 4.15
- at the nearby nursing home where she had been for the past two years She
was very special and dearly loved by her
daughters Priya and Shaila(Palo Alto, California, USA).
Funeral is scheduled for Saturday the 10th of February.
Mrs. Saramma was the grand daughter of Cheriyamadthil
Yakkob Kathanar.
